5B Burgers

Our sumptuous BBQ Beef & Black Beans Burgers are guaranteed to satisfy the starving! The black beans act as a remarkable favour enhancer, bringing a unique dimension to the wagyu while giving the burger some additional heft and texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Bronson Beef Co. ground wagyu
  • 1 ½ cup black beans
  • ½ cup sweet onion, finely diced
  • ½ cup instant oatmeal (unflavoured)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp of your favourite BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp Montréal steak spice
  • Large buns (we recommend brioche, but kaisers are also an excellent choice)
  • Your favourite burger toppings & condiments

Directions

  1. In a very large bowl, mash the black beans until about half are basically paste but some whole beans remain.
  2. Add the onions, oatmeal, BBQ sauce, steak spice & egg and then mix everything together well.
  3. Add the ground wagyu and use your hands to combine ingredients fully.
  4. Form in to four patties and let them rest for about 10 minutes.
  5. We wouldn’t dare tell you how to BBQ them – you’ve got your own style, we’re sure of it! (We will, however, recommend you lightly toast the buns at the same time).
  6. Garish with all your favourite toppings & condiments and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions

Sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, fries, potato salad, bean medley salad, or even a fresh garden salad. You know, any of the usual stuff you’d have alongside a burger.
